Semi Brick Wii Fix

I semi bricked my wii by running ssb jap backup ([Wii]Dairantou_Smash_Brothers_X[DVD5][JAP][wiisos.com]) on the first U.S. wii version(day it came out) without the proper brickblocker, now I have no access to my wii settings or play SMG
( error 001), I have heard that if you load the update in big brain academy, wii chess, donkey kong it fixes the problem but I am looking for an easier cheaper way, if i find anything I'll put it here in case someone else runs into the same problem, I haven't tried all the setup disk updates yet but when I do I'll post what happened. If anyone reads this with any advice that would be appreciated
